Adam Team

Adam Team is a midnight shift team that works from 2100 hours (9:00PM) to 0700 hours (7:00AM). Their scheduled days off are Sunday, Monday and Tuesday but due to their work hours, they actually are off Saturday night, Sunday night and Monday night. The Adam Team's Watch Commander is Captain Ronnie Smith Jr. and his Lieutenants are Lt. Larry Cochran and Lt. Tom Bailey.

 

 

Captain Ronnie Smith Jr. was born in Lawton, Oklahoma where he graduated from Macarthur High School and Cameron University with an Associates degree in Criminal Justice. Captain Smith began his career with the Lawton Police Department in September of 1997. Smith spent several years in the patrol division, serving on the bike team and as a field training officer as well as earning his advanced CLEET certification.

In 2001, Captain Smith was assigned as one half of a two man unit working the zone one area as part of the police department’s effort to clean up crime in the area. In 2002, Smith was assigned as a detective in the Special Operations section working Narcotics and Vice Operations.

In June of 2005 Smith was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and served as a patrol supervisor. Captain Smith was promoted to the rank of Captain in December 2010, where he serves as a uniform division Watch Commander, the department’s Quartermaster, and an intoxilyzer supervisor.

Lt. Larry Cochran began his career with the Lawton Police Department on May 6th 1998. He has served within the Uniform Division, Criminal Investigation Division, Professional Standards unit and the Special Operations unit. Lt. Cochran has also served on the departments Honor Guard and is currently serving as supervisor of the Crisis Negotiation Team.

Lt. Cochran has received numerous hours of continuing education to include Advanced Hostage Negotiations and Major Crime Scene Investigations. He has earned his advanced certification though the Council of Law Enforcement, Education and Training (CLEET) and numerous letters of commendations.

Lieutenant Thomas Bailey began his career with the Lawton Police Department in January 2000. Lt. Bailey spent several years working within the Patrol Division. In May 2008 Lt. Bailey transferred to the Criminal Investigative Division. Lt. Bailey was a case investigator and a Crime Scene Investigator. In July 2011 Lt. Bailey was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Currently Lt. Bailey is assigned to the Patrol Division as a Patrol Supervisor.

Lt. Bailey graduated from Macarthur High School then Cameron University with an Associates degree in Criminal Justice. Since joining the department he has earned his advanced CLEET certification. During Lt. Bailey’s time with the Lawton Police Department he has been assigned to the department’s bicycle team and was used as a field training officer. Currently he is an entry team leader on the Lawton Police Department’s Tactical Team.
